add "reconnect" button to to dialog "Unable to Connect to your Data Source"

hi!
every morning when my laptop awakes from sleep and RDM was running the day before I am presented with this dialog.
there I tend to click on "Go Offline" - wait some seconds - then click on "File > Go Online" - and wait some more.
I also get notified /poups for servers it lost connection to (because those where active aswell).
It would be nice to have a "Reconnect" button which then tries to reconnect not to the data source but also - if connection to the data source was successful - reconnects the previously connected sessions.

Guenther,
Thank you for the suggestion. We've had a few requests for this on the form. Unfortunately it's not as easy as might think to implement. We've been thinking about this for some time.
Until we come up with something better, I would suggest you cancel the dialog instead of going offline. This will cause RDM to cancel the current action and do nothing more. Now, on your next action (refresh, edit...), with a proper internet connection available, RDM should behave normally.
Now that I think about it, we could maybe look at suppressing the errors while the OS awakes from sleep/hibernate and has yet to re-establish the internet connection. I will investigate this further.

Hi,
I'm also interest by auto reconnect (auto go online) option in the future like do a ping every 2-3 minutes and if the datasource respond try to reconnect.
We have the same behaviour as Guenther Schmitz. But what we do to remove the go offline notification we use the auto go offline with the ping option in the datasource settings.
So each morning we don't have the notification to go offline and we need to do a CRTL+F5 or just click on the orange globe to go online. But we still getting error from sessions who was open.

Merci rienera! I will give it a try - it looks like a very good practical way of working around this issue! Much appreciated!
Thank you also Stéfane for looking into this! but your solution of using "Cancel" and then "Edit or Refresh" does not work at all.
Edit: cannot be executed as all settings/options are greyed out ones "Cancel" is selected
Refresh: results in "Not connected"

@Guenther,
What version are you on currently? The latest release v2020.3.23.0 should resolve the cancel issue.

@Stéfane: I am on v2020.3.23.0 and will verify tommorrow morning.

hi Stéfane,
this it how it looks to me using the mentioned RDM version and DPS as backend after clicking on "Cancel" and selecting an entry.
