Improve startup time on windows

Are there any options to speed up the startup time of the Remote Desktop Manager on Windows 64x?

It takes by default about 15-20sec until the application is ready.
That may sound not much, but it feels like 1 Minute if you compare it with a double click onto a *.rdp shortcut on your desktop.

Hello Chris,

Thank you for contacting us on that matter!

Are you by any chance running RDM as a portable version?

Also, could you please go into the installation folder of RDM and run the "Optimizerdm.bat" with elevated permission? In doing so, .NET will preload the application and accelerate the start-up process.

Hi James,

thanks for the tip. The application is installed, not portable. Unfortunately running the *.bat file didn't changed much.
I saw some warnings about "Failed to load dependency xy", full output: https://pastebin.com/dt3vW167 but I think this is the normal behavior.

What's the 'to expect' startup time of RDM if there is nearly nothing configured on your system?
Are there any other things which may slow down the application?

Best regards,
Chris

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your swift reply!

On my end, fully loading RDM can take between 5 to 10 seconds in average. That being said, what type of Data Source are you currently using?
Also, could you please go under Help -> Diagnostic -> Data Source and tell me how many entries you currently have in your Data Sources?

Furthermore, you could disable the "Splash Screen" of RDM, to slightly increase its startup time. To do so, go under File -> Options -> Application Start -> Uncheck "Show Splash Screen".
