Hello,
I have following options set:
Options->User Interface->Use mouse hover to show/hide panels
Options->User Interface->Dashboard->Auto focus Dashboard
I have the Navigation pane reduced, so with hovering over the Navigation it opens and bringing the mouse away it closes.
If i double click an entry in the navigation pane the session open and the navigation pane reduces again.
But if I single left click an entry, the Dashboard opens in background but the navigation pane stays then open when i move the mouse out of the pane and i have to click somewhere else to close it again.
Maybe this behavior is intend or there is already an option for it.
nest regards,
Heinrich
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter!
I would like to try to replicate the issue you are experiencing. To help me do so, I would like a bit more information about your RDM environment.

Hello,
I use 2020.2.20.0 Enterprise with SQL on premise but also tried with 2020.3.12 Free againt SQLite.
I don't think it is a problem of Datasource.
Actually i played around a bit more... the problem only exist when i select inactive elements...
When i click an active session (in the navigation pane) the corrospending Session Tab becomes active and the pane closes as soon as the mouse leaves the pane.
But when i select an inactive element and only the content of the dashboard changes, the navigation pane stays open... regardless the mouse position
best regards,
Heinrich
Hello,
Thank you for your reply!
I was able to replicate the issue you have encountered. I will open a ticket to our engineering team to report the behavior to them. We will get back to you once progress is made on that front. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

Hello,
I had a conversation with out engineering department, and it looks like the behavior you have described is intended.
The navigation pane does not retract following a single click because the focus is on the pane. Comparatively, when you double-click an entry to launch a session, the focus is given to the session, which is why the pane then retracts.
Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any additional questions on that subject!

Hello,
thanks for the information... but:
it is connected to which session tab is active... i try to explain
if i select different objects in the navigation pane with a single click:
if i single click an active session -> The tab with the session is activated and the pane retracts
if i single click an inactive session (while any other tab then dashboard is open) -> The dashboard tab is activated and the pane retracts
if i single click an inactive session (wihle dashboard is open) -> The content of the dashboard is changed but the pane does not retract (a click somewhere else is need to close)
Its a minor problem but a bit annoying :)
best regards,
Heinrich
