DWL (Devolutions Web Login) not working with some websites - only one user

avatar

Hi,

one of my colleauges may not use the DWL.
He showed me the situation.

  • Chrome or Edge (chromium) - no difference
  • Passwords could be saved initial, so the browser plugin seems to work fine
  • When openening the browser again and launching the specific websites, password fields are not filled and there is no *1 sign reight of it, so a password is not found
  • Also, when right clicking the entry in his private vault and trying to copy username/password, the message appears, that there is nothing to copy

Any irdeas?

Best regards,
Daniel

Hi,

I have some questions so we can try to reproduce it with the same conditions:

  1. What is the RDM version?
  2. What is the data source type? (SQL Server, DPS, etc)
  3. Were the website sessions created with DWL or RDM?
  4. If you edit a website session that you can't copy a password in RDM and save it (you don't have to change anything in the edit window). Are you able to copy the password afterwards?

Hello,

  1. Newest, yesterday downloaded and updated through RDM-Client
  2. SQL Server
  3. Session were created by DWL
  4. What do you mean exactly?
    1. If I rightclick -> edit the DWL created session -> copy'n'paste anything?
      1. This works
    2. Right-Clicking these sessions and copying anything (User/pw) does not work

Hi,

About the fourth question, I mean like a. right-click -> edit the DWL created session and save -> then this session should work with DWL.

We will investigate why some websites wouldn't work when created by DWL, in the meantime as a workaround you can edit and save the website sessions that don't work.

Hello Olivier,

this works.
To repeat it:

Stepp 1: Opening a specific website -> manual filling in credentials -> DWL save credentials
Stepp 2: Opening the DWL URL entry in RDM -> website opens, credentials are not filled
andin manual selection from "*1" right of the fields does not do anything, when clicking the entry

Stepp 3: Edit DWL entry -> "OK" without change -> process above does work incl. autofill

As a workaround, we could live with it. Maybe you'll find a permanent fix for it.

Best regards
Daniel

I am getting the exact same behaviour.

Credentials that are being created using the Devolutions Web Login browser extension are not being correctly saved within Remote Desktop Manager.

You need to open the entry in RDM (make no changes) and then click save.

Hi,

A fix when an entry is created using DWL and this issue occurs will be available in the next RDM version.
