RDM in Citrix environment with dynamic machine assignment and datasource security provider
Hi all,
i hope someone can help with my question. I want to implement RDM in our Citrix environment and ran into an issue where users have to constantly enter the passphrase (security provider: preshared key) when connecting to the Datasource (MS SQL).
I found out the problem lies with them connecting to different virtual desktops that get randomly assigned on each connect. If they enter the passphrase and connect to the same citrix machine then they don't have to reenter the passphrase.
Is there a way so they don't need to enter the passphrase on each new machine? different security provider? or some gpo setting i have overlooked? some setting in the datasource maybe?
Best regards,
André
Hello,
Just to confirm, do each one of your users have their own profiles, and that they are roaming (not sure of the citrix term...) and persisted after their session
Thanks
Maurice
Hello Maurice,
we have a Virtual Desktop Infrastukture (VDI) from Citrix. Each user has a profile on a networkshare and are assigned on logon a random virtual desktop from our machine pool. On logoff a script will copy user data (c:\users\username\*) to a share and on logon will write it back.
Thanks for taking your time to answer my question.
André

Thank you Jeff,
i hope there is a solution for our usecase. I couldn't find anything for this particular scenario (VDI + random machines + datasource security).

André
