RDM Web Browser Session to Cisco Switch Causing Switch to Crash

avatar

When opening a Embedded Web Browser Session to connect to the UI of a Cisco SG300-20 Switch it is causing the web management server on the switch to completely crash. All monitoring reports the switch as down, but it is still passing traffic through per usual. Connecting to the switch's UI and logging-in in a browser (Chrome) works fine. I am using the Remote Desktop Manager Free - Version 2020.2.19.0. Will make note that this is my first time setting up the Web Browser Session for a Cisco Switch. I have the IP of the switch in for the website, Application as Chrome, and the Auto-Login setup for it. This is going to be the second time going onsite to restart the switch, please help.

Hello,

Does the issue occur every time you connect to the web UI through RDM? If it does, could you try connecting to it without any auto-login settings and see if it doesn't crash the switch? I'm wondering if there might be something happening with the auto-login that is causing your issue. It might also be worth trying with Internet Explorer as the embedded browser.

I appreciate the quick response.

On the initial try it will run through the Auto-Login, the switch will attempt to load the menu - bringing up the loading bar at login, it gets to 10% and stops. Acting like it failed the login with no further progression or message. When going to do the login again it goes through the same process as previously described and crashes, saying that the server failed to respond.

I will try this again with settings recommended and let you know, thank you.
