Slow RDP session using RDM

avatar

My RDP sessions are slow when initiated in RDM, when I click something there is a couple second delay. When I use native mstc everything seems to work fine. I tried uninstalling and re-installing and then importing my rdm file so I am not sure if something is importing that is causing this. Where could I look to start troubleshooting this

Hello Chris,

Thank you for contacting us on that matter!

Would it be possible for you to launch your RDP connection in external mode instead and see if this slowness still occurs?

Best regards,

External mode does not have the slowness

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your quick reply!

That being said, which version of RDM and what type of Data Source you are currently using?
Also would it be possible for you to create a brand new RDP entry and see if the same issue occurs?

So I am using version 2020.2.19.0 64-bit

Its Local data source

I created a new rdp entry and I used ip instead of host-name to eliminate anything goofy and its still doing the same thing

Hello Chris,

Thank you for this information!

Since the behavior is the same, I would like to know if this issue is tied to the RDP protocol we are using to launch RDM connection in embedded mode.
To test this, could you please install RDC Manager from Microsoft and see if the same issue occur when you launch the connection?

This application can be downloaded here: https://kb.devolutions.net/rdm_rdc_manager.html

So I installed rdc manager and added the server I have been testing with and inside rdc manager its working as expected.

Hello Chris,

Thank you for performing this test!

It seems that this case will require more in-depth troubleshooting. For this reason, would it be possible for you to go under Help -> Submit a support ticket, to open a support case with us? Through this ticket, we will have access to more information regarding the configuration of your RDM and your Data Source.

Just make sure to mention the URL of this forum thread in your ticket and I will be working on this case with you.

Best regards,

James Lafleur
