Is there a way to only install and use the PowerShell module for Remote Desktop Manager?
We are using the Enterprise edition, but some users only use the Credential Repository and their Private Vault of the build-in Password Manager to securely store and use credentials and use Development tools like VSCode and PowerShell Remoting to connect Remotely to systems instead of the Remote Desktop Manager application.
Furthermore, native PowerShell 7 support would be highly appreciated
Hello,
It is not possible to only install the PowerShell module as it stands on the whole RDM code. As a workaround if you don't want to install RDM as an application on a machine, you could download the ZIP package and install it as a Portable version. Adding the installation path in the machine's environment variables could help for loading the RDM PowerShell module. And if you want to upgrade that RDM portable installation, simply unzip the new version over this installation.
About PowerShell 7, RDM isn't ready for it and the engineers will analyze that possibility. At first sight, this maybe a bit complicated as RDM uses very specific parts of the .Net framework. We will keep you posted on this one.
