Personal Safe Search (Credential Source) with better filter
0 vote
Hi,
I have a feature request. Is it possible to extend the personal safe search in the connection object so that you do not enter the name of the exact object, but only "contains the following, starts with, etc.".
This would help us extremely.
Because we have personalized accesses for different customers, which we store in our private safes, it is difficult to get all employees to use the same name for the object.
But it would be practicable to have a naming convention, for example that the object starts with a certain name and then when opening the connection the private safe filters the search already.
Since several logon credentials are possible, it is not possible to specify an exact name.
We are using about 5000 Objects in RDM.
And mostly we use the private safe search as Credential Source.
It would be great if you can Help us here.

Hello,
That's a good idea, it would be great to improve the private vault search feature. We've opened a ticket for this enhancement, and we'll update the thread once we have any update.

Hello,
Just to let you know, in the latest RDM release (2020.3.23.0) there is an option to perform the user vault search with "starts with". The option is located in File > Options > Types > Credentials:
The new option is "search for credentials that begin with the search string". Can you check and let me know if this works for you?

Hi Hubert,
Thanks a lot, it´s working.
But now i see two further usability issues.
best regards,
Benjamin
Thanks for the feedback, I've opened a ticket to look at these two remaining issues. We'll see what we can do. 🙂

Hello,
For your first request, it is already supported with a global option (File -> Options -> Advanced -> Expand all tree nodes on select credential entry).
As for your second request, we have made the change and it will be included in the 2021.1.0 release.
