Hi guys,

I just wanted to thank you for the great functionality of "Secure Gateway". This is something we have been waiting for a long time. We use it as a VPN connections to our customers environments. It is more convenient than standard VPN (needs a client and every customer has diferent VPN vendor) and also more secure (ssh keys auth and server key fingerprint pinning).

There is just a one thing we would like to ask you. Currently, it looks, that we are not able to have multiple "Secure Gateways" connections at one time. I mean to be connected to multiple "SSH Proxy servers" (different networks/customers) (having multiple connections through one secure gateway works fine). Do you have some plans to support multiple secure gateways?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us on that matter!

That being said, would it be possible for you to provide us more details about what you are looking for? I would like to see how you are currently configured and what is missing in order to be able to provide this information to our Engineering Department.

If you prefer, we can discuss this matter through a ticket. This way, you will be able to provide us more details and screenshots without posting them here directly. To do so, you can either send an email to ticket@devolutions.net with the URL of this forum in its description or open one by going under Help -> Submit a support ticket in RDM.

Best regards,

James Lafleur

Hi James,

sorry for a delay in communcation. I will try to desribe the issue/feature request little bit more. If the description is still blury, I can make a demonstration video.

I think, the issue is not about configuration. Imagine a situation:

  • Two clients. For each client we have configured a Secure Gateway (SSH Proxy).
  • Every client has several servers. We are using RDP to connect on that servers. The RDP is tunneled through the Secure Gateway (SSH Proxy).
  • The RDP connection works fine. In case of a first RDP connection the Secure Gateway is dialed.
  • We can connect to one or more servers of client A and client B as long as we are working just on RDP servers of a single client at the same time.
  • The problem is, when you want to work on RDP servers of client A and B at the same time. In that case you need that both Secure Gateways (SSH Proxy) are dialed. Actually the proxies can be dialed both at the same time, but it looks, that RDM si tunneling all the RDPs just through one Secure Gateway (the one which was dialed as first).

Hello Martin,

After having a discussion with our Engineering Department on that matter, we would like to know how your entries are configured in order to make sure that this behavior is not a result of this configuration. According to the information I have gathered, RDM should allow you to open 2 Proxy Socks at the same time.

To facilitate our exchanges, would you be interested in opening a support ticket with us? If so, please go under the Help section of your ribbon and use the "Submit a support ticket" button to open a case with us, just make sure to mention the URL of this forum in its description. Once it is opened, you will be able to provide us screenshots of your configuration.

Best regards,
