Hello:

Is there a way to presetup all the users to connect to a data source when remote desktoping to a company terminal server and running RDM for that server?

Thank you

We are using integrated security for a SQL RDM source.

Everyone has work computers under our domain but with everyone working from home, some people have opted to use their own computer at home. They cannot connect to RDM on their personal computers because the computer is not inside our domain. Even when doing a VPN to the company network, integrated security is still requiring the windows users be companydomain\user.

We thought we would have a terminal server setup inside the domain that they could login into and then open RDM inside the terminal server. VPN to company network\RDP to Terminal Server\Open RDM\Connect to the clients.

We were wondering if there is a way to set RDM in the terminal server up so that when a new user connects into the Terminal server it would they can just launch it and not have to apply the license and import the data source connection to the SQL server.

all good then, if you do not intend to use DWL, just disable the listener in the common configuration that you will export and save beside the RDM executable

I would just recommend setting the default RDP setting to use the smallest cache size (thin client I think), since the introduction of server 2019 its just crazy how much it uses cache memory
