You can achieve this by enabling the "enable keyboard shortcuts" option in the entry, and by modifying the "language code" value to, let's say, "de" for german. Here's a list of the language codes: https://developers.google.com/admin-sdk/directory/v1/languages

very nice, is there a way to do this for all sessions with chrome tabs?

If you select all of your Chrome entries (through something like the Advanced Search), you can then right right click > edit > batch edit > edit entries (session type settings), and through there change the two options and it should apply to all of your entries.

mh.. it looks broken t me right now, at least the spell checker doesn't adhere to the setting. what whould be enought for me to being able to disable the spell checker completely

I took a look and it seems the spell check by default uses the same language settings as your system. We don't currently support changing it manually, but it seems the third party we use has a setting to change it. I've opened a ticket to add a setting for the spell check language.
