Time delay for smart reconnect RDP sessions when logging in

When opening RDP sessions that have "smart reconnect" scaling setting, very often Remote Desktop starts the "smart reconnect" while the server is still processing the log-on process.
In some cases this triggers a log-off from the server that closes the connection. In these cases when one restarts the connection the RDP server presents only the log-in windows and does not log-on automatically.
It would be good if the "smart-reconnect" function could have a time-delay parameter for session opening.
