Hi!
Can SSH tunnel in RDM be used as a replacement for the Jumpserver? I'e we create a SSH tunnel option and define it as VPN connection on the connection object, but how does the connection object (RDP in this case) know to send traffic in the SSH tunnel?
Can the same SSH tunnel be used for several RDP connections, i'e each RDP session has the same SSH Tunnel defined as VPN and RDM is intelligent enough to not take down the SSH Tunnel if one of several active connections are taken down?
Since SSH tunnel is simply terminating in a Linux box onprem (in our case) can the SSH tunnel destination be a cluster of some sort in RDM? I'e collection of hosts and RDM picks any one that responds when the connection is taken up?
I assume multiple users can use the same SSH Tunnel in parallell to connect to resources on the opposite end of the SSH Tunnel?
Hello,
Yes SSH Tunnel can be a replacement for JumpServer. With the new version of RDM 2020.1.X you can use the new feature call Secure Gateway. RDP can how go through the SSH Tunnel session without a lot of manipulation.
I suggest having a look at our blog How to Configure a Secure Gateway in Remote Desktop Manager.
