Custom scaling Client W7 Server W10

Custom scaling Client W7 Server W10

When both client and server are Windows 10, the custom scaling applied is the one of the client, which is perfect.

But if the client is Windows 7, this does not work, scaling renains at 100% which is unusable on my high res monitor.

Is there a solution to make loging from W7 apply the client scaling too?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us on that matter!

Would it be possible for you to go under File -> Options -> User Interface and please uncheck “Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.”
For more information on that matter, please refer to this link: https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/troubleshooting_hdpiscalingissues.html

I suspect that in doing so, you won't encounter this issue anymore.

Thanks for the prompt replay.

My W10 PC that I'm building does not start anymore, so I can't try.

I'll get back to you as soon as I fix the problem. I hope it's just something stupid, and not the mobo or the processor who died.It was "on the table", but after putting in its case, it worked at first and then now it does not start.

I have to remove it, and start anew to find the problem, a real bummer. Thankfully, I have a backup PC for such cases, but it's still running W7.

Hi James,

I'm afraid that changing this property one way another does not help.

The article shows screens that do not seem to exist with Windows 10
version 1909 build 18363.657, and anyways, using the native RDP scales
nicely to the same scaling as the client already.

Hello,

Thank you for your quick return!

That being said, have you tried to check/uncheck the option "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" under File -> Options -> User Interface in RDM to see if this behavior changed on your Windows 7 instances?

Also, I will need to know your RDM version along with the type of Data Source you are currently using.
