Hi, just opened my Win 7 Computer and it said it recover from blue screen.
Some applications have lost all their settings and registration info including RDM.

I started in completely blank state asking for registration. I enter my reg enterprise details
Opened in new data source and empty. I imported my backup source. I got all my entries.
Options nothing, i click on import options from my backup .cfg file and got this error:
Please assist.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter!
In order for you to have access to your old configuration, you could close RDM, copy your old remotedesktopmanager.cfg file and paste it in your %LocalAppData% -> Devolutions, under the "RemoteDesktopManager" folder.
Once this is done, you will be able to open RDM and have access to your old configuration.
Best regards,

Yeap that did the trick
But why restore didn't work ?
I see now that a new local data source is created in .db with mysql.
Has this changed ? is it more safe now ?
Will i be able later to restore options if i have from backup or the backup options is not working ?

Hello,
Thank you for your quick reply.
Do not worry, this option should be working. I will contact our QA department on that matter in order to see if that is something that we can reproduce internally. We will be in touch shortly.
Best regards,
James Lafleur
Hi,
If your tried to restore a backup that has been made before the blue screen event you should be fine.
Note that everytime you add an entry it should create a new backup to make sure you're not loosing data.
And just to be sure, are you using a cloud backup or local backup ?
regards,
Alexandre Roy
I did that Roy, i tried to restore backup from a month ago, i do every three days export in .xml a backup and using cloud backup
My problem was not the actuall entries backup.
The options restore did not work.
Even weeks .cfg file back.
It didn't work via GUI producing the .net error posted here.
Copying the file in %appdata% did the trick.
@James, thank you for making this visible to your team looking for the problem.

Hmmm,
I'm gonna ask some questions to the engineering team, I have some doubt about something we changed recently about the encryption, maybe the old data cannot be read anymore.
I'll investigate a little deeper.
Thanks for reporting this.
Best regards,
Alexandre Roy
We've made an internal fix with the error you've provided us. It should be available in the version 2020.1.12.0
Thanks for reporting this.

Alexandre Roy
Many thanks Roy!
