Hi!

I have made a silent installation of the newest version of RDM, but I need to auto import (silent) the .rdd file I exported, with my datasouce and all my entries, is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay of my repsonse.

It should be possible for you to distribute RDM into your organization by creating your own .exe or .msi with the proper configuration via our custom installer service. Could you give it a try?

For more information's on the custom installer, please consult https://helpcloud.devolutions.net/custominstaller_introduction.htm

Thanks, I ended up installing the standard MSI file with INSTALLMODE=Complete and then copying the needed files such as Connections.db, RemoteDesktopManager.cfg and the "guid" folder containing the folder PlayList, Favorites.xml, offline.mcdf2 and Repositories.xml to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager\

I'm not sure why it is not possible to put the configuration in a roaming folder, so it applies to all users, that log on to the computer?

Hi,

The reason why we do not recommend to user to use the same configuration file is if you use Local Specific settings feature or some feature that save the credential locally. As a provide is private by default and not shared we recommend using your own configuration.

That said, you can share RDM and datasource configuration by using the default.cfg file as explain in our help topic (Terminal Services - Remote Desktop Services)
