Export function causes folder structure to disappear

avatar

Using enterprise edition 2019.2.24.0 and exported a folder. After a few days, the folder structure in the tool disappeared. No evidence of deletion in the deletion logs. In order to restore the folder structure, had to import the exported file. Datsource type is password server and the server version is 2019.1.20.0

Hello,

Thank you for reporting this strange behaviour.

Could you please first refresh you local cache file with CTRL+F5 within RDM? Then please go in Help - Diagnostic, select the Data Source tab and please send us a screen capture of the report. The important section is at the bottom of the report to check if all the cache version are synchronized.

I will ask our QA team to try to reproduce this behaviour and see if they can reproduce it.

Best regards,

Hello,

Do you have an idea on how long it took to realize that the exported folders were missing in your data source?

Our QA team have exported a folder from a DPS data source and they will monitor if they can reproduce the same behaviour.

In the meantime, could you please send me the diagnostic report you will find in the Account menu? Please see this online help page for more information about the Submit a Support Ticket feature. In the Subject or Message Detail, please add a link to this forum thread.

Best regards,

Hello,

We haven't been able to reproduce this behaviour.

The only operation that could explain that your entries have disappeared is because they have been moved to another Vault in your data source.

Have you imported, or someone else, the entries in another vault? Could you please check the Entry History to see if there is any log entry related to Move to vault under Action column?

The reason why I'm asking to check that is when you export entries, if the IDs are not modified, on importing them into another vault, this will move the entries and will not import them as a copy.
