Hi,
Sometimes we have false positives as far as opened sessions are concerned (e.g. a uses closes RDM before the session or external closings of the session due to timeout). This can be problematic when displaying warnings if a user is already connected.
I think it would be great if there was a way to automate the following task:
Access the Opened Sessions from the navigation pane (the "Play" Icon) you select the scope to "Running Sessions (Global)", can right click on those sessions and select "Flag as closed".
e.g. via PowerShell or after a fixed time. Then we wouldn't have to look for false positives manually and close them...

You would like to close all the session? I'm not sure to understand how you want to automate that if you need to select some specific sessions?

Hi,
I would select the specific sessions according to the amout of time a session has been open.
E.g. if a session was open for more than two days we are sure that it is a false positive.
Linke the feature for automatic check in (Administration -> System Settings -> General Automatic Check in after x minutes)
I hope that made the intention a little bit more understandable.
Best Regards
We could add a menu item Flag As Closed (Advanced) where you could be prompted with a some parameters to specify:
- All session older than X days?
What do you think?

Hi,
That would be exactly what we need.

Perfect. I will add this to our todo list.

Hello,
We have added a "Flag as Closed (Advanced)" menu item.
All changes will be effective in the next update (2020.1.2.0)

Hello,
would it be possible to extend this feature the following way:
A global setting 'Flag as closed (advanced)' that flags sessions older than x days as closed automatically without any user interaction.
Best Regards
We installed the update bu how can we make this a default that the session will be closed automatically?
thanks in advance

Hello,
We will put this on the roadmap for RDM 2020.2. We've opened a ticket.

Hello,
Just to let you know, this will be available starting from RDM 2020.2.
This will be configurable in the System Settings, and it will automatically check at certain intervals to flag as closed entries older than a configurable amount of days.
As a reminder, only administrators or those with the "flag as closed" permission will have this event trigger.

Hubert Mireault
So this is not for all session(users)?
Best regards,
Kaj Graficom
Hello,
If you would like all your users to be able to trigger the check to flag as closed automatically, you could go in the System Permissions in the miscellaneous tab and change the "flag as closed" permission to "everyone".

Hubert Mireault

Hi,
just wanted to thank you for the implementation - we are using the feature in production for quite some time now and it works great :)
