RDM and Azure SQL database

avatar

Hi

We have successfully implemented RDM with an Azure SQL database storing all client computers for our business. We use UltraVNC server for client connection.

Internal staff can connect to the database without issue.

One Vendor who we require to have access to our computers has setup the database however even after they have white listed IPs of the database and we have whitelisted thier IP range they cannot connect to the database.

There is no error just a spinning blue circle.

They run Windows 10, create private vault credentials however cannot connect to the database.

Any ideas?

Hello,

As I understand, your vendor is trying to access your SQL Azure database from RDM via internet. Am I correct?

If it's the case, is the database accessible from the internet or you need a VPN to authenticate on your network and then, get access to the database?

Best regards,

Hi yes you're correct. One vendor is having issues connecting.

The Azure database is public to my understanding so it should be able to be connected to without a VPN via the internet.

Connecting to our site computers from within the database however requires a VPN connection.

Hello,

On your side, is it working to access the database from home as example without using a VPN?
