So I was having a chat with James on the live chat about this and he explained that when you are want to select credentials in from the private vault (RDM Enterprise) in the connection properties, you have to do a 'search'. Where you basically have to copy and paste the name of the credential into the field. It's also case sensitive.
However, when you do a credential repository, you get a drop down list of available credentials that you can select.
James mention this is by design because of reasons. Ok, then, that's fine.
However, I was poking around in the user specific settings under a connection and noticed that if I check the box to override credentials and use the private vault... then I am indeed able to see a drop down list of credentials from the private vault.. no searching needed... no copy paste needed.
Can you please make this drop down credential selection available in the credential properties like it is under the user specific settings option?

Hello Hazen,
The reason why it's not possible to select "Private Vault" in the entry is because the private vault is per-user. Users don't have access to the data within other users' private vaults. This means that doing a "hard link" like that would work for the person who set up the entry, but for no one else. The "private vault search" is the solution we had to allow administrators to make all of their users choose a credential from their private vault.
You can indeed use the "specific settings" to link to the private vault as you noted. This works because those are saved per-user. This is the recommended solution when you want to use entries from the private vault while you are in the shared vault.
