Global credential that every entry inherits

Global credential that every entry inherits

avatar

Hi all. We are Enterprise customers and mainly use RDM for RDP.

I mostly use "My Private Vault" and folders below it with entries. I have set every entry in every folder under the "root" (My Private Vault) to use credentials "Inherited". However I can't seem to find how to set the credential on the root (My Private Vault). I click it's properties and I get the properties of the first entry in the tree below it. How might I create a "master" credential that every entry can inherit from? I'm sure I can create a folder under the root and set a credential there but that seems like an extra folder layer that I don't really want.

Thanks

Hello John27,

You are correct, you cannot set credentials on the "My Private Vault" folder.

That said, you could either create a new folder underneath it as you mentioned above or configure your folder and entries to all points toward the same credential entry using the "Credential Repository" feature. For more information on that matter, please refer to this link: https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/credentials_redirection.htm#creating-a-session-using-the-credential-entry

This kind of change can be applied on multiple entries at once using the "batch Edit Features: https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/commands_batchedit.htm

I hope this helps!
