Remote Desktop Manager SDK ?

avatar

Hello :)

is the add-on SDK still supported/available? I could not find the SDK. We have created an vpn add-on for our own purposes and wanted to update the add-on to the newest SDK but i could not find any information.

Thank you in advance!

Hello,
The SDK is still supported but no longer recommended. Unfortunately we had to integrate all the add-on directly in RDM because of the UI framework we use. We have an tight dependency on it and it's required for the multi-theme support.

We could integrate yours if you want and if it's not too much custom.

As we connect directly to the tanss database to create a specific integration for our supporters i guess it would be too much custom to integrate it directly.

Is this the reason why the Add-On is not shown any more in the "create connection" process. I can still create/duplicate connections from my add on but cannot create a new one, as it is not listed anymore.

Hello,
Would it be possible for you to go under Tools -> Add-on Manager and see if the add-on you are looking for is enabled (has a green mark next to it)?

The Add-On is not listed there anymore.

Hello,
I will enter a bug report for that.

Thank you, but if custom add-ons are deprecated , they will be not working in future versions anyway , or am i wrong?

This will not recommended but it should continue to work.

Hello,

We were not able to reproduce this issue internally.

Would it be possible for you to inform us of the location where your dll is installed.

When adding the entry can you make sure you are in the "General" section before searching for it just in case it isn't in the section you would expect it to be. Please take note that the "General" section will only show the most popular entries unless you actually type something in the search field.

Also, from what I understand, custom add-ons will not appear in the add-on manager like mentioned above and should directly appear in the "Add Entry" form once the dll is added.

Lastly, if this isn't a problem for you, could you send us your dll using the following safe transfer link https://devolutions.sharefile.com/filedrop? We could then try to reproduce your issue using our developer environment without adding an integration for it in RDM.

I made contact with our technicans and they decided to use build in plugins and the build in tanss integration for the future use of our product. So i guess this topic will not be relevant anymore for the future.

Thank you for your help. If anything changes in the future, i will come back to it :)
