RDM doesn't start after adding new Google Drive Datasource

avatar

Version: RDM 2019.2.8.0 (same behavior after trying to downgrade to 2019.1.41.0)

As I wanted to move my vault/client list from my local drive to be hosted on my Google Drive, I created a new Datasource as a Google Drive Datasource. This worked fine, and authentication was successful.
After I saved that new configuration, RDM closed without any error message. Now when I try to launch it, it starts up, shows the splash screen and then shows that it's trying to access my new datasource, and then just closes down again.
I have since then tried to uninstall and re-install the same version to no avail. This is a single user/single account installation, not shared with other users.

- How do I remove that newly created Datasource config if I can't open RDM?
- What could have gone wrong?
- Are there any application logs that I could check as to why this crash happens?

Kind Regards
Max

Hello,

Let's start by making your RDM available again. Make sure that RDM is closed and perform the following steps:

This will create you a new configuration file and RDM should open properly. However, you would need to reconfigure your data source.

That being said, I've tried to reproduce your issue on RDM 2019.2.9.0. I've create a new Google Drive data source, import data in it, delete some sessions and restart RDM.
I was able to open RDM as expected.

Do you have something relevant in Help -> Application Logs?

Hi Jeff,
Thanks so much ! I was able to get RDM working fine after creating a new cfg file. However, whenever I add that datasource again, same outcome, hence I held off on that feature for now.
Now am trying to migrate the custom config I had in the original .cfg file back into the newly generated one.

I was not able to find much in application logs, but will check if I can enable debug somewhere to gain more insights.. work got in the way, so I haven't been able to test much.
Thanks again !
Cheers
Max
