New terminal does not support rectangular selection

I am currently using version 2019.1.41.0 64-bit. I'm trying to select a rectangular area in the new SSH shell. In the old shell (or in PuTTy or cmd) it is possible to do this. A rectangular selection can be done with Alt+mouse pointer.


Taking a screenshot of it is difficult because it is more of a process. Therefore I made a short GIF of the process (once with the new and old shell).

Small update: some people call it "Block Mode Selection".
