Information "VPN opened" in MySQL DB when using "Go offline on connection"

When using MySQL as data source, the column "message" within the table "connectionlog" contains a message that indicates whether a VPN connection has been established or not. We use this information within a self-developed web portal in order to signal whether a VPN connection has been established on a jump host or not. According to this information, jump hosts are considered as available or blocked.

Depending on the VPN client, it may happen that the RDM cannot reach the DB after the connection has been established (e.g. overlapping subnets, restrictions by the VPN clients). Therefore, we tried to use the options "Go Offline on connection" and "Go Online on disconnect" of the VPN entries. These options work great but the corresponding DB entry (with the message "VPN opened") is not set before the RDM switches to offline mode.


Would it be possible to update this entry before the RDM switches to offline mode in future RDM versions?
