The built-in HANA Studio Plugin can handle single database instances only.
When will HANA MDC (multi database container) be supported?

Hello,

Is HANA MDC part of the same executable? If so, do you have the command line with which it can be invoked?

HANA MDC is a new way / standard of SAP of using the HANA database. Since HANA platform Edition 2.0 only HANA MDC installations are supported. Pls see SAP Help Center for detailed Information: https://help.sap.com/viewer/6b94445c94ae495c83a19646e7c3fd56/2.0.00/en-US/623afd167e6b48bf956ebb7f2142f058.html

On the SAP Help Center, it mentions that SAP HANA MDC can be managed through either SAP HANA Studio or SAP HANA Cockpit. https://help.sap.com/viewer/6b94445c94ae495c83a19646e7c3fd56/2.0.00/en-US/577f8d3ffebd4265b73e2c673d934412.html

SAP HANA cockpit seems to be web-based, so you could already connect to it through a web browser entry.
If you would like to use SAP HANA Studio, then it would be useful for us to know what features exactly would be useful for you, so having help on the command line itself would help us tremendously, especially if what we have currently isn't compatible.

We are using both tools, but there are a handful administrative features of SAP HANA Studio that are not available from SAP HANA 2.0 Cockpit.
The actual RDM HANA Plugin enables us, to start HANA Studio and login automatically into a single-DB HANA System, without the need to predefine the HANA system in Studio.
We need the exact feature for MDC.

Thank you, I understand what you would like to do.

Unfortunately according to the documentation it seems that the command line doesn't support MDC: https://help.sap.com/viewer/a2a49126a5c546a9864aae22c05c3d0e/2.0.00/en-US/03ddfdf2-dc16-45f5-a8b7-b1d5b220fb34.html

We currently use all these parameters when opening the SAP HANA Studio executable.
If you would like to expand the command line to support MDC, we recommend that you contact the SAP team. We would be happy to modify our integration once they have added the appropriate options to their executable.

Hello Devolutions.

They currently support it!

-h Host name
-n Instance number
-u User name
-d Tenant database

Hello,

Thanks for the link! From what I'm reading we only need to pass the "-d" parameter, since the others are already included in RDM. We've opened a ticket, we should have this available by the release of RDM 2020.3, planned on October 28.
