Hi,
i have a user that every few weeks all his UI is changing (tree removed, no ribbon, etc) and i reset for him every time,
is there a way to lock the UI to a certain position and display so the user will not be able to change it ?

Thanks
Rotem

Hello,

The layout of the UI is saved in %localappdata%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager.
Does he have access to this folder?

Is he changing the UI manually?

Hi,
The user does have access to this folder,
he do not recall changing the UI, but it does happen from time to time.

Hello,

The folder %localappdata%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager also contain the configuration file for RDM.
If your user doesn't have access to that folder, I suspect that he's also not able to save the configuration file.

Could you ask to your user to go in File -> Options -> Advanced and take a screenshot of that window please?
I would like to see where the configuration file is located and it's possible via this window by looking at the blue hyperlink at the bottom.

Hi,
the user DO have access to this folder, and deleting the UI config file do help,
my quest is: how can i prevent from the user to change the UI so it will not happen again ?
OR is there a "save UI" and "load UI" buttons that i/user can use ?

Hello,

There's no option to block the UI from being changed.
However, we have an option to reinitialize it if it's mixed up. To do so, the user just need to go in Window -> Reset Layout.
