Hi there
I am interested in the command line automation capabilities of RDM. I am using free, version 2019.1.32.0. Neither created shortcuts to my connections nor the web URLs are working at all. I have had many versions of RDM and have upgraded in place, though 2019 was a full fresh reinstall.
Create web URL: I try to run the protocol handler, and I get this:
rdm://open?DataSource=bda4668a-0d42-4033-8695-783fe9698299&Repository=&Session=60038b5f-a405-4fa9-9a33-27781dd83599
Application not found
Create batch file:
Batch file is created but running i shows a quick animation and nothing happens. it doesn't matter whether RDM is running or not.
Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this? I am a keyboard heavy user and use a symentec launcher for most tasks. Being able to type RDM->Dev01 to get right in to my developer machine would be a great feature. As of right now there are many mouse clicks and some tree hunting, VPN connections, etc. to get there.
Hello,
I will do some test and comeback to you!

Etienne Lord
what version of RDM did you upgraded from to version 32?

Alexandre Roy
Hi, sorry I don't recall exactly. I had to do a manual download of RDM 2019, it wasn't detecting a change.
Hello,
Thank you for the feedback. I have been able to reproduce your issue and our engineering department has been notified. I will keep you informed when a fix is available.

Hello,
Justed wanted to let you know that a new version of Remote Desktop Manager Free has been released and the protocol handler has been fixed.
Best regards,
Jean-Philippe Charest
Thank you, it does look like it works, I had just updated and tried it. the rdm:// handler brought up RDM and opened my connection. One thing I wanted to mention, maybe its related but maybe not, is that the shortcut still isn't working for me. I create a desktop shortcut for a connection and when I click it it does not bring up RDM or my connection at all. Also, the command line option does not work either. It is possible it is my evolution of installs and imports. Thanks
Hello,
Indeed, this did no fix the command line and the shortcut. I will do more tests and inform our engineering department and I will update this forum thread as soon as a fixed version becomes available.
Best regards,
Jean-Philippe Charest
