Embedded VNC does not pick up minus or slash keys

Embedded VNC does not pick up minus or slash keys

avatar

Hi folks, I am using vncviewer either embedded or launched separately from RDM. However, typing a '-' or a '/' doesn't work in the session. Any ideas? Is this a keyboard emulation problem? I am in the UK, so don't know if this is an issue?

Hi,
if you have the problem externally, it might be an emulation problem. If it's only in embedded, it possible that it's a bug.

Hi, When I launch TightVNC from a stand-alone executable all is good. However, if I launch it from RDM, either embedded or in a separate window that is when the problem occurs.

Hi,
It's really weird, because RDM execute TightVNC directly when it's opened externally. If you have time, can you try with UltraVNC ?

Aha - bingo! UltraVNC has the same problem but only when running embedded. When it is run in it's own window, it is okay. Looks like an issue with embedding it. By the way, I'm on RDM 5.6.2.0.

Hi,
I try to fix it for the embedded. Sometime, it's the application (RDM) that steal the keypress.

Thank you

I have found the same problem with the : colen. with TightVNC, all of the numeric operators from the numeric keypad do not work, also if I press shift and any of the numbers on the topy of the keyboard I get nothing or the wrong char.

Hi guys,
I fixed many problems with the embedded VNC and later today, I will release a new beta version (5.7). If you have time, give it a try and let me know if it's better.

Just tested 5.7. All key presses are now picked up in VNC. Top job!
