RDM silent deployment - Remove license key entry window on first run

Hi,

we have a custom silent install package for RDM and would like to know if there is a way to prevent the dialog for entering the license key from appearing on the first launch. Our package automatically configures the data source and it is using a site license key, so entering a license key is not required.

Thanks!

Hello,

What RDM version are you using?

Hi Érica,

sorry, I was sure I had replied already, but must have just thought of it :)

We are using version 14.0.6.0.

Thanks.

Hello,

Is it possible for you to create a custom installer with RDM 14.1.3.0?

You are deploying RDM via the custom installer on workstations that RDM was never installed right?

Hi,

we'll have to evaluate the new version before we go and replace our current version. You are saying there is a feature to remove the licensing Window in the new version.

We want to be able to deploy RDM on new workstations, as well as update the version were it,s already installed.

Thanks.

Hello,

I've made a few tests on my workstation and the registration window still appear at the opening of RDM 14.1.3.0, however, you can press Cancel on that window and the process will continue as expected and create the data source properly and deliver the serial like it should.

Not sure that we can completely disable this window at the opening. I will open a ticket to our engineering department to see if it's possible.

On a side note, no need to use the Custom installer to deploy a new version of RDM on your workstations that RDM is already installed, since there's already a configuration file on these workstations.
Using the custom installer in those situations will erase the current one and use the one from the customer installer. In that case, your users will lose options that they may have enabled in File -> Options menu.
