I have installed RDM on a Terminal Server with a custom installer.
I had thought i disabled Auto Update but came to fine one of my servers had been upgraded (subsequently breaking everything)
Can anything be done through the custom installer or otherwise to Remove the software update functions?
Hello,
I'm not sure how the customer installer is configured, however, when you create it you can disable the check for updates.
The same option can also be deployed with policies, our How to apply policies help topics can give you further detail.
So RDM will stop looking if RDM need to be updated, but this does not prevent user with proper right on the RDS server to update the application.
That being said, if users have proper right on the server to install or update software I recommend using the Data Source Settings Version Management.
This will prevent newer version of RDM to connect to the server and to update it.
One of the main point that I'm aware is Terminal Server and Custom installers, could you please see our help topic Terminal Services / Remote Desktop Services installation steps to be sure RDM is properly installed on your server? Customer installers do not know if it's installed on a Terminal server or a standard Windows.
