Using Windows domain credentials in my personal credentials

Hello,

I'd like to pass my current Windows credentials/session to be used on a Linux remote object in RDM but can't find a way to do this , don't know if it's even possible.

For example, would be great if I can pass my windows credentials to "My personal credentails" and then use it on the Linux server (which has AD integration), and not have to type my password. Also this would save me from changing the user password setting every 3 months due to password change policy.

Any way to do something like this?

thank you,

Hello,

RDM cannot "grab" your current credentials and use them to authenticate on a remote computer, however, it's possible to create a Username / Password credential entry that will contain this information and use this entry on several entries.

Prior to continue with my explanation on how to accomplish this with your specific needs, I would need to know the following:

Hi, thanks for your reply. If the username and password credential entry for my domain password then I'll have to re enter it every time my domain credentials change (they force a 3 month password change policy on us), which will be annoying to do since there area about 10 or more servers to change.

Data source is MS SQL
version is 14.1.1.0

thank you

Hello,

Exactly, every 3 months you would need to update the password inside this entry with the new password that you have set.

With RDM 14 and a SQL Server data source, I would recommand creating your Username/Password credential entry inside your Private Vault (to be the only one to have access to it) and use the User Specific Settings feature to override the credentials of the session with the entry in your Private Vault.

For more information's in these features, please consult https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/view_navigation_privatevault.htm and https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/fr/edit_userspecificsettings.htm
