Hello,
Currently we use RDM with only one domain. We put inside "My account Settings" our Admin account and all RDP is set to use this account.
We will have another domain and we want to create new RDP entry but when we change our admin password we want to save it only once.
How can i do it ?
Each users have a different admin password. I don't know how i can say use "this account" but "this account" is different for each user.
Thanks for your help
Hello,
We often see this for those in the community with a pair of Least Privilege/Privileged accounts.
Since the one in My Account Settings is a lone credential (stored locally in APPDATA), the alternative is to store instead in one's private vault.
I would also enable the "Allow special open actions in Dashboard" setting in File - Options - User Interface - Dashboard". Lets say you keep your principal account in My Account settings as you are doing now, this will become your default action. When you need to use an alternate account, you can click on the "open (Select credentials)" button of the dashboard, it will allow you to browse to your private vault.
Is this acceptable?
Best regards,
Maurice
Right clic every time isn't good for my team. I need another way
Hi,
as Maurice said, use Private Vault.
We do so.
If your team isn't capable of right-clicking just create a folder for your server, set your ips/dns on folder-level and create blank rdp-sessions in this folder inheriting settings from folder.
on each rdp-session you only define different credentials using private vault search.
ensure that every colleague uses the same scheme in private vault like:
user adam has: company-adm-adam
user frank has: company-adm-frank
global availability: available
so you can private vault search for credential "company-adm-", rest is done by RDM
there is your one-klick-wonder
Kind Regards

======================
We buy RDM for having a merge database. If each member of my team must create manually each server connexion i use mstsc.....
We have almost 500 entry and we will have lot of server on our second domain.
I not know global availability. That's looks like the answer great :)
I will try it, thanks
each member creates only a password entry in private vault.
rdp-sessions are not created for every member.
but they have to be created once in one of many ways rdm is capable of.
plz read the online help or schedule a remote session with support and let them guide you.
if you want, you can write me a private Message with info detail about your problem and i'll try to create examples for you.
Kind Regards
Markus
