Just set up the ability to configure LAPS as a credential repository source and found that due to my limited status of reading our Active Directory env. with my regular user account, I cannot read passwords stored in AD. Is there anyway I can launch RDM as my elevated user account for reading AD, like a run as command? In newer versions of Windows the only option is "Run as Administrator."
Hello,
You can start RDM with the RUN AS from a command prompt. Here is the online documentation about it.

Thank you!!! I'm assuming you can't save the password without retyping it in everytime? Eventually it won't be an issue when we move over to these new creds but it may be awhile still.
Hello,
You are right, it is not possible to save the password when using the Run As functionnality. You need to type it everytime you will start RDM using that method.

unless you put this in the Target of the shortcut you are launching RDM from C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /user:domain\username /savecreds
you will enter in your password the first time and not again until you change it.
AWESOME! That will work until I switch out my LAN id.
