Check for Updates not working

avatar

Hi,

While my colleague is on 14.1.3 for RDM Ent.Ed. I'm still on 14.1.1.0 and when I check for updates RDM tells me that it is up to date.

Any issues on the update server?

Regards,

Jasper

Hello,
This is really strange. I've just checked and all our update version are correctly set. Could it be possible that a firewall is blocking the check update?

What should be the url or ip that is being contacted by RDM?

By the way: my colleagues updated RDM earlier today.

It seems to be something on my computer. I have to look into it myself. Thanks anyway

Hello,
Could you verify if you can download view this url?

https://devolutions.net/products.htm

Hi David,

Thanks for responding. In my webbrowser this URL works fine and shows me this:

Hi David,

Couldn't solve it. So what I will do is install version 14.1.3.0 manually and wait for the next update.

Same problem here on two different Windows 10 machines, two different environments, firewalls, etc.
I can access the https://devolutions.net/products.htm url without issue.
Not a show stopper since you can still download the update manually, but "Check for Updates" is much more convenient.

I just checked my laptop computer too and encountered the same problem as the one on my desktop. Both are, like the one of Sime3000, on Windows 10 also

Could you post a print screen of your Check for update setting in File->Options?

How about that!

I changed the settings on my laptop to:
- Check for: All (major and minor updates)
- Download installer mode: Automatic
- closed RDM and reopened it again and suddenly there is an update available.

Manually checking for updates is still an issue though.

I suspect that the Check for All is the key setting. We will investigate.

Hello,

We've made the fix internally. This will be available in the next minor RDM update.
For information, this only happens in the "default" mode or the "once a month" mode. As a workaround, you can change the autoupdate mode to a different value.
