Disable shortcut creation

It's not possible for now but we could add a setting for that. I'm curious to know why you want to disable the shortcut?

We are currently looking at what would be the best way to share entries between different teams, and you will tell me that shortcuts would be the way to go and I don't disagree, but others see this has letting users potentially share information without approval or oversight. I have my arguments against disabling that feature, however if their was a way to disable it for certain people/entries (via a user setting or entry permission) it would be more flexible.

Anyway, we have a lot of difficulty having the feature actually working. In testing, we are encountering permission errors when trying to create a shortcut from one place to another when the user has both add and edit permission in each place... We are not clear on what permissions are actually required to achieve this other than assigning every permission and permitting move and delete.

A new setting called "Allow shortcuts" has been added to Data Source Settings->General.
It will be available in the next release of RDM.
