UHD monitor and RDP sessions

avatar

Hello everyone.

I am now working on a UHD monitor and having all sort of issues when using RDM.
I know already that some issues might be related to RDP itself, but I would like to know if anyone has found a resolution to it.

The problem is that all the applications inside an RDP session are blurry and not very pleasant to the eye.

Is there any way to make them sharp(er)?

Thank you,
Claudio

Hello,

Could you try to check/uncheck the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings option in File -> Options -> User Interface?

Best regards,

Hi Etienne,

That was the first thing I did.
Nothing changes either way. The applications that are presenting the problem are all the MMC based apps (ADUC, GPO Management etc.)

I would like to know if anyone is experiencing this issue and if there is any way to mitigate it.
My eyes get tired really quick.

Thank you!

Hello,

Would you be able to send us a screenshot of how the screen looks like?

Hi Etienne,

Here it is.

The attachment is from a remote desktop session.
You can see a Notepad edit and behind it a piece of a Group Policy Management window.
The text is blurry, compared to the notepad.

As said, both notepad and the GPM windows are from the Remote Desktop session. I suspect that this has nothing to do with RDM. I think it's just GPM, ADUC and all the other Windows applications do not play well with High DPI settings.

Hello,

From what your described, it indeed seems like the issue doesn't come from Remote Desktop Manager. You can still let us know if you find the cause of the issue or a solution!
