Integrate Take Control remote management client in to RDM so sessions can be called direct from RDM.

It's on our todo list but it's not as obvious as it seems with their API.

Hello,

As you saw in another recent thread, we are currently waiting to receive news from their team to know if they have an API or a command line that we could use to integrate within RDM.

As a note, do you know if Take Control and RMM are one and the same? The other thread seemed to imply they were, but I can see two different web pages for these products. With all the rebranding that happened with these products it's hard to follow since we're not customers of N-able.

Hi Hubert,

Take control and n-central are 2 different things. Take control can be used as a stand alone product and it integrated in n-central rmm for remote support.
N-central rmm is a collection of tools from SolarWinds in one interface. We are interested in a integration in rmm so that we can for example import our sessions from rmm and use their RDP proxy mechanism to remote control our server with RDM.

Kind Regards.

Hello,

Thanks for the explanation of the distinction between the two. Do you know if RMM has a command line or an API that we could use to integrate? The original link at the beginning of the thread doesn't seem to exist anymore.

Hi Hubert,

in this KB item you can find the N-able RMM Api Web service APIs (n-able.com).

Thanks for the link Karel. I've opened a ticket so we can see about adding this to RDM in the future. From what I can tell this wouldn't just be a simple add-on but a full on integration, a bit in the "dashboard" style (like our Active Directory Dashboard entry, for example).
