Offline mode not prompting for credentials

Offline mode not prompting for credentials

We have our test environment setup and running well but I cannot seem to get the offline mode to work as expected. When launching the application from my local desktop, the credentials window pops-up and allows for 'Offline Mode' to be chosen. I am also expecting that the application still ask for credentials, cached ones however, it is just launching the application without them. Not sure if this is by design or some setting on the server back end that needs to be adjusted.

Hello,

Your login informations are saved in the local encrypted offline files on your computer, if you wish for the credentials to be prompted when connecting in offline you, you can activate this option located in the Administration tab > Data Source Settings > Offline.

When going offline from then, any user will be forced to enter thier password in order to access the offline cache file.

Hopefully this solves the situation :).

Alexandre Roy

I have done this and now I get the prompt fr the password but it will not accept anything. The 'OK' button remains greyed out. Also the credential user name is greyed out.

Hello,

It's grayed out because you probably don't have a username configured in File -> Data Sources.

Still working on the server part. The engineer who setup the system is not back yet. I will post that info once he gets back.

Hello,

If you post a screenshot of your File -> My Data Source information report, we will get the version of the server in that report.

Hello,

We have discovered an issue with the offline mode in DPS 6.0.2.0 and RDM 14, so I would not recommend upgrading your DPS instance for the moment.

As of now, the workaround would be to save your username inside the username field located in File -> Data Sources. With the username saved into the data source configuration, it should be possible for you to go in offline mode properly.

Will do. Thank you. That process works now. I have documented it and hopefully the bug gets worked out in future versions.
