Hey Guys -
I've been using Remote Desktop Manager for years now and love it. If I can figure out how to do one task (if possible), it would be a tremendous help for me, so wanted to post.
In my current position, I work mostly from home where I access environments of multiple companies. To make it easier, I have set up a dedicated Win10 VM (ESX) per company which I generally keep connected to their VPN at all times. Therefore, if I need to work on something, I just connect to the VM and go. An important note that local LAN connectivity is still allowed for these VPN connections.
My Question
If I were to install the RDM Agent, a plugin, specific configuration, (or anything, really) onto each VPN-connected VM, would I be able to RDP to the systems for each company from RDP installed on my primary PC which is not VPN-connected? If so, how? I first considered setting up RemoteApp, but would have to rebuild each VM so thought perhaps the agent or something similar which would act as a relay may do the trick while keeping things secure.
Any suggestions or thoughts? Thank You!
Hello,
Indeed you can, we have RDM Jump for that exact scenario.
We even have a video on the subject : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfpCDZGphA8
Here is the online help : https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/kb_configureremotedesktopmanagerjump.htm
Don't hesitate to come back if its still unclear
Best regards,
Maurice

I actually just tried it out and it worked, but have one more question, please.
Once I set everything up and tested, here's what happened...
1. I opened the session to the session going over the jump box from my workstation
2. RDM opened an RDP connection to my VM
3. RDM launched on the VM then auto-connected to the remote server
The problem is that now I have RDM running within RDM (below) which is confusing plus taking up valuable real estate. Is there a way to get the remote session to appear like a typical RDP session? I tried setting back the default for .rdp files of using mstdc.exe on the jump host, but that didn't work. The process was a bit slow as well, but guess that all comes down to resources.
Any suggestions? Thanks
Hello,
you can hide some sections on the Jump Host. A very good explantation can you find here
