I just installed the latest update bringing the version of the Remote Desktop Manager to 5.0.1.0 64-bit. After the update my citrix connection is no longer working, instead I get the error

Unable to create the Citrix control, the request timed out.

When I try to open a connection.

I am using Citrix ICA/HDX and in the General tab I have chosen Config filename

Opening the citrix ICA file normally without the Remoter Desktop Manager works

What could be the cause of this?

Could you verify if you have anything the Application Logs located in Help?

The only things in the application logs are some info rows about database update over 2,5 months ago. So nothing helpful there I'm afraid.

Hello Arch,

Sorry to jump in the thread, but I think the issue occurs with RDM-free 64 bits. Is it possible that your latest version was RDM Free 4.5.3 or earlier?

RDM 4.5.3 and earlier was in 32 bits and Citrix ICA at the moment works only with 32 bit version. We are currently working on this issue with RDM x64.

Hi David

I just recently got the latest version, after which the problem started, but I figured I'd try the 32 bit version anyhow.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to do that. There is no separate link for 32 bit download. I found some article saying that both are included in the installation, but installation does not ask me which I would like to install. Also I can not find any instructions on how to select the 32 bit version afterwards nor can I find any separate exe for a 32 bit version.

In the install dir "C:\Program Files (x86)\Devolutions\Remote Desktop Manager" you'll see a "RemoteDesktopManager.exe" and a "RemoteDesktopManager64.exe"
The one without the 64 is 32 bit. you can confirm by clicking HELP ABOUT
