CyberArk Entry - "User specific settings" bug

CyberArk Entry - "User specific settings" bug

avatar

Hi,

Just wanted to integrate CyberArk as a Credential entry (CyberArk1.jpg).

The way I need to do it is to edit the "user specific settings" for each user to direct him to the correct entry.

The problem is that the window that opens for this is for a regular user/password entry (CyberArk-User.jpg).

I'm working directly with CyberArk team and they are very interested to integrate RDM with there system, they are asking who do you work with in CyberArk so they can talk to them internally.

Thanks

Snir

Hello,

Please have them contact us at support@devolutions.net, I do not want to publish this info on a publicly available web site.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what is your issue, but normally each user would specify their credentials for CyberArk in File - My Account settings, this allows the entry to be configured by simply checking the "Use My Account Settings" option.

Best regards,

Maurice

Ok, I'll explain my configuration, maybe it will help.

I use central SQL DB for all the connections.
I've configured one credential entry for "User Login" and I use it for all the RDP sessions (I have above 2000).
in order to give each user the ability to use their own credentials, each user right-click on the "User Login" entry and configure his credentials under "User Specefic Settings".
I want to change this to use CyberArk Creds, so I need the options to change the settings that each user uses with the CyberArk Vault.
I expected that when I user the user-specific-settings I will get the same window as the original (CyberArk1.jpg picture) but instead I got regular window (CyberArk-User.jpg)

Hope I explained myself...

Hello,

If I understand correctly, you are using the USS directly on a credential entry?

This scenario does not offer the same capabilities as USS on sessions/folders which does allow selection of other credential entries.

Usually, our customers would use USS on the top level folder, or even on the Root Settings. Is this something that you could try?

I'm sorry but I have some session I would need other creds, if you override all the creds on the folder level I do not have this customization option.
If I do it on the credential entry (like I've been working for the last several years) I have all the option I need.

I just need to be able to store personal settings on cyberark entry like on a user entry.

Hello,

Sorry about the delay, but your statement about "like I've been working for the last several years" made me wonder if this had ever been possible for CyberArk entries.

They are our partners, and we have worked closely with them on our integration. I know that we have limited some of our capabilities in order to conform with some of their preferences.

The PAM space is quite complex and I fear that our hands may be tied in certain cases. That being said, I will happily jump on a remote session with you so I get better understanding of your needs. I will send the link through private messaging.

Best regards,

Maurice
