Error logging off via right-clicking on a tab

avatar

Hi,

I sometimes right-click a tab and choose Logoff when I need to quickly log off of a bunch of servers I'm remoted into. For the last month or so I've been having trouble getting that to work. When I choose Logoff, I will get an error that says: "Windows cannot find 'logof'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."

It seems like RDM is sending the word "logoff" to the remote machine followed by an <enter> key but it's either going too quickly to register the last 'f' or there's a bug that it's not sending the last 'f'.

I know choosing Logoff from the menu used to send "shutdown /l" but maybe that changed to sending "logoff" now?

Anyway, if anyone has suggestions on what might be wrong, that'd be great.

Thanks.

Hello,

Is it possible that you encounter the same issue reported here?
https://forum.devolutions.net/topic30581-bug-introduced--logging-out-of-server-.aspx

It does appear that it's the same issue but it is no limited to Server 2016. I just tried logging off of a 2012 box and got the error that 'logo' is not a valid command so it didn't register either of the f's. I'll follow that other post so you can close this one.

I hope to release a new beta with a fix.

Does it work now?

Works great now! Thanks.

Is there any way to select multiple tabs and issue a Logoff to them all at once? That'd be great if I could.

Hello,
We are working on a Broadcast action feature including the Logoff. This is on our todo list.

Chiming in here from a support referral. I'm getting the same issue, Windows is trying to run either "logof" or "logo" when I disconnect from the system. Support had me try the four different automatic logoff methods, the following were the results:
Automatic – shows system trying to run “logo” command and failing, RDM closes window, does _not_ log off remote machine
RDM Agent – no errors, RDM closes window, does _not_ log off remote machine
Remote Desktop Services API – no errors, RDM closes window, does _not_ log off remote machine
Macro – shows system trying to run “logo” command and failing, RDM closes window, does _not_ log off remote machine
As it stands right now, the automatic logoff method is completely broken for me. I have to manually logoff each server (2008, 2012, 2016). Other users using the same shared MariaDB as a datasource do not have my issue.

What version do you use Rick?

Using version v14.0.2.0 64-bit. RDM reports that it is up to date. I don't have a ticket number, but the previous rep I was emailing was Jeff Dag********* if you want to look up historical on what was done already.

Hello Rick,

Thanks for posting our the forum like I suggest from our support mailbox to centralize this type of issue here.

As mentioned in Rick's post, he have tried several methods to perform the logoff. We've also tried to check/uncheck the Disable Run dialog check on logoff, but he still receive the logo message.
