RDP sessions: Windows key on the remote computer enabled by default
Hi,
for RDP sessions is it possible to have the option "windows key on the remote computer" enabled by default?
It's in the Actions toolbar, in the Settings section, see the screenshot.
I have to enable it every time I open a new session...
Thank you,
Roberto

Hello,
You can have this option set directly on your session if you go in your Entry's properties -> Local Resources and change the "Apply Windows key combinations" to "On the remote computer"
If you would like to have this option set for all the new RDP entries that you create, you can simply go in File -> Templates -> Session (Under Default Settings)
Then search for "RDP" and change the same option as above

Thank you!
It seems I got lost in that many options available!!

What if you have a .RDP file that you download from e.g. Azure? Every time I click on the .RDP file, I'll have to manually select the button to send windows key to remote computer.
My default.rdp setting is already set to send key to remote computer and my default RDP session in RDM is set to use that as well.
And no, I don't want to save every .RDP file as a new RDP entry in RDM. I know you can save the entry and then configure the properties in the RDP entry, but this is not what I want, as I don't necessarily want to save every single .RDP file that I download from Azure as a new RDP entry in RDM.

I'm always using the latest beta RDM x64 version.

Hello,
Are you able to edit those entries? If so, you can select them in bulk, make a right-click -> Edit -> Batch Edit -> Edit Entries (Session Type Settings) -> Local Resources and change the option.

In my previous comment, I specifically mentioned this:

I manage 1000+ VMs in Azure for our customers and sometimes need to connect to them. I'll click Connect (in Azure), it'll download a .rdp file for the VM and I'll open that file with RDM. I DON'T want to save those VMs as RDP entries in RDM, because of multiple reasons. One of the reason is that a lot of the VMs don't use static IP, which means it's pointless to save them as RDP entries. The 2nd reason is I don't like the idea of having 1000 customer VMs stored in my RDM. I already have 500 entries in there and the more stuff I add, the more laggy RDM becomes. There are other reasons too but that's off topic now.

Hello,
The engineering department opened a ticket regarding your case, they will add a default option for external .RDP. We will keep you updated on any changes.

The Windows key on a remote computer is usually enabled by default, allowing users to quickly access the Windows Start menu and various shortcuts. This feature is convenient for many users but can also be a source of frustration if it accidentally activates while using other keyboard shortcuts. If you're using a remote computer and find the Windows key to be a hindrance, you can consider disabling it. However, if you're using your own computer and want to ensure that it's running a genuine and licensed copy of Windows, it's important to purchase a reddit windows product key. With a genuine and activated copy of Windows, you'll have access to all the features and updates that come with a licensed version of the operating system.
Hello,
