Hello
I'm a user of RDM for years, and since we have started to deploy Win2016 servers, the connection from RDM to Win2016 is really slow, almost make the machine unusable during the login process.
RDM is now up-to-date (v13.6.7.0 - 64bits with .Net version 4.6.2 / .net runtime 4.0.30319) and still have exact same issue. RDM runs on Win2008r2 server.
The slowness is not happening if i launch RDP session to my Win2016 servers.
So it's clearly RDM issue.
Thanks for your help.
Could you try RDM 32 bit?

David Hervieux
Hello David
where am i suppose to find the 32b version ?
the Download links do not offer this choice.
thanks.
Hello Olivier,
you'll find the 32bit version in the installation path (eg. %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Devolutions\Remote Desktop Manager) called RemoteDesktopManager.exe (RemoteDesktopManager64.exe is the 64bit version)

thanks. found it.
unfortunately, it's not faster at all.
i tried for half a day
Could you verify in the tab page tooltip which RDP version is used by RDM? Just mouse over the tab to get the information.

it's written rdp 8.1
What data source type do you use. Could you try to create one entry in a local data source and verify if you reproduce the problem? I want to isolate all the data source related variables.

it's written [XML] local data source.
i created a new one (same XML local cause the "jump server" is isolated from Internet so no alternative) and it's same slowness
Could you try RDCMan, we use the same ActiveX?

just one thing i noticed :
It's (incredibly) slow only when the rdp connection is Embedded (tabbed). If i choose external, it works without any slowness.
To be precise, only the login step is slow. I cannot type my login / password without spending multiple minutes. i see password being typed something like 30-50 seconds after having typed it on the keyboard
RDCMan : no problem. works fine without slowness with Win2016 / Win2012 target servers
Hello,
Would it be possible to do a remote session with you to have a look at this issue with you?
If yes, please send us an email at ticket@devolutions.net so that we can schedule a remote session together.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hello Olivier,
Thanks for your time today. The solution for your infrastructure (Windows 2008 R2 as jump box) is to change the RDP Engine to version 8.0 under File-- Options --Type -- RDP.
