Cisco Anyconnect plugin causes RDM to hang

avatar

On a windows 10 machine using the latest vpn plugin, Cisco Anyconnect causes RDM to hang and not recover. I created a custom command line entry that basically does the same thing that the plugin does and it launches the CLI just fine. I am fine with just using it as a CLI but that means I have to go update like 50 entries for Anyconnect in my database.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting our support service. To better assist you, we require more information about the issue

What version of RDM are you using?
Are you starting RDM with specific options ? (32-64 bits run as administrator or standard)
What type of data source are you using? (File – My Data source information, use the "send to support" button.)

Best regards,

Thanks for this printscreen, unfortunately we didn't receive the data source information. (File – My Data source information, use the "send to support" button.)

That being said, another test could be to download the latest version of RDM 13.6.7 from here and seeing if the issue still occurs.

Best regards,

Found the issue. Had to disable these 2 settings. This is what is making it hang forever. I sent the data source email too.

Thanks for the information, probably RDM tried to kill the application but doesn't have enough access to.

Maybe running RDM as administrator then? I created a workaround for the issue so not a huge deal. I have full admin rights on my machine as it is though.

Hi,

For information, as soon as we want to use VPNs in RDM it's recommended to start RDM as administrator. Many external VPN application requires elevated privileges for credentials.

I'll give that a shot. Thanks for taking a look.
