Start of RDM on a Windows Server 2016 Terminal Server takes more than a 1 min

We Setup a new Terminal Server on Server 2016, we have a large Database for our Sessions in our RDM. (like 4530 Entries)

First we use RDM on a Terminal Server 2008 there was little bit faster on the first start.

I dont know why it takes so long, for non Admin User sometimes more than 5 min to start.
Is it something a problem with the rights in the backround?

Version: 13.6.6.0 64Bit
Enterprise Edition License
Database: SQL Server

Hello,

The number of entries and the rights can possibly cause slowness on load entries in the Navigation pane.

But first, I will ask for some reports to check the health of your SQL data source to be sure that no other issues can affect RDM performances.

Could you please go in Help - Submit a Support Ticket and send us both reports Diagnostic and Data Source Information)?

Then, could you please go in Help - Diagnostic - Data Source tab and open the Database Diagnostic dialog and send us a screen shot of that dialog at ticket@devolutions.net?

Best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for the screen shot and both reports.

I just sent you some instructions, from our ticket system, to remove duplicates groups that are presents in your database. This should help to improve performances.

I found the problem which cause the RDM starting 1-4 min.
It was the Theme "Legacy" under Options - User Interface - Theme = Legacy

We have a GPO what copy our Config for all Users in their %userprofile%/Appdata/Roaming/Devolutions the config files.

I changed the config file with the theme Default and now the program start in 14 seconds.

Can you check why the theme Legacy is so a bottleneck.

Hello,

We were unable to reproduce the issue using the Legacy theme. The only difference I have is that I am using RDM version 13.6.7.0.

Could you please try to set it back to Legacy theme to see if you still experience the issue when connecting with a non-admin account?

For sure, having more than 3500 entries with permissions on folders, loading time should be longer (few seconds) for non-admin user but not as long as 5 minutes.

We highly recommend to create and use repositories to split your data into smaller subset to improve performances. For more information, please consult the following online help page. https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/datasource_repositories.htm
