Addon stuck in an install loop

Addon stuck in an install loop

avatar

RDM is constantly prompting me to restart the application to update an addon. When I restart RDM it will immediately prompt me again to install an addon and restart. Loop is endless unless I click Cancel.

I've determined that the MySQLGuiAddOn.DLL is the only addon appearing within the Addon\New folder. This file also exists in the root folder for RDM. The file versions of the file trying to be installed and the one in the root directory are the same 2.1.0.0.

I looked in the Addoninfo50.xml and the Addoninfo60.xml and I see the addon listed in Addoninfo50.xml for version 2.0.0.0
In RDM it's self its not listed as installed in Tools -> Add-On Manager under the Filter categories Installed, Outdated, or Uninstalled.Trying to manually install the addon or auto install of the addon here does not resolve the issue. However version 2.1.0.0 is listed here.
I've also looked in File -> Options -> Path -> Configure Install Path and its not listed there either.

So ultimately something is prompting this to install yet it never installs right.

Please help, the prompt is killing me!

Hello,

What version of RDM are you using?

Could you please delete the dll in the Addon\New folder since it's already at the root as you mentioned?

Hi I'm running 13.6.7.0
If I delete from the Addon\New Folder the dll comes right back when I relaunch RDM.

Additionally I can confirm that the 32bit version does correctly show the add-on installed and does correctly remove the add-on. It does look like my coworker does have an entry in the Database that uses this addon, that would explain the constant prompting I am receiving to install the add-on as it's trying to auto install it.

I also tried removing the add-on while using the 32bit version then went to use the 64bit and it proceeded to attempt to reinstall the add-on which failed.
I then removed the offending connection entry and I'm happy to report I'm no longer getting prompted for the addon install however. This appears to be a bug and it's super annoying.

FYI I'm specifically getting the prompt when I edit a entry item.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

We will investigate the issue with the 64-bit launcher of RDM.

Thank you for the details.
