Passwords/Logins Agent?

avatar

Hello,

we've now been using RDM for a while, and I have a question when it comes to end users.
We have some 7 licenses I think, 2 are admins and 5 end-users.

Personally, I use 1password at home, and it fullfills my needs when it comes to passwords for websites. It of course does not help me to manage and administer my network and company.
What I like about 1password though is the lightness of the program and the simplicity it brings when it comes to website passwords.

For us admins in the company, RDM is currently irreplaceable. But for end-users, I find it a bit "too much". I would very much like to see end-users have an always-resident agent or app of a kind, so that if they enter www.amazon.com they can use a browser extension, which will then ask them for a password, and then reveal the amazon password.

Instead, currently, the user has to start RDM (which asks for the password of course), and either then open the page inside the RDM (which is a bit confusing and tedious for an end-user) OR they can then start the browser, and hope that RDM recognizes the page and enters the credetials automatically. One can of course still copy-paste, which they also know how to do... some are happy with it.

Maybe I am missing something, but is there something light with RDM, similar to what 1password is offering? Is there a better system than what I am currently doing?

Thank you.

Hello,

What you describe is something that can be achieved with our Devolutions Web Login extension in conjunction with our Devolutions Password Server product.

Here are some documents for you to learn more;
https://server.devolutions.net/
https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/devolutionsweblogin.htm

Have you heard about these solutions that we offer?

Not sure if I understand it well. Let me tell you how I understand it right now:

In the beginning, before we started using RDM, I was tasked to find a networked password safe solution. Back then, we trialed RDM and Password Vault (PWM), which in the end we decided against, as it had missing HTTPS entry to assign favicons (like, Hello...) so I managed to talk my boss into getting 7x license for RDM.

Now we have 7 licenses of a program we actually don't *really* need, because other 5 users (we are 2 admins) are acutally only using it for website-credentials.

And now, to simplify things, we would need to shell out another $350 per users per year, just to NOT have to install RDM on all 7 machines?

Hello,

Our Password Server product is indeed a high-end solution which in your case might not be exactly what you're looking for. It offers the web login portion for end-users.

The reason I suggested this is because from your description, it seemed as though you were looking for a solution for a large number of end-users but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Maybe I did not fully understand your request and if so I apologize.

Let me have a discussion with my team and I will come back to you on this.

Hello,

After a discussion with my team, we believe that the Team edition of our Devolutions Password Server will fit your needs.

The majority of your users will no longer need RDM. If you would like to have a call with us to better understand, simply send us an email to ticket@devolutions.net and we can give you more details.

Best regards,
